As Vice President of Merchandising for Allstar Products Group, Gary reorganized the process for product selection and review, leading to higher success rates, increased number of opportunities to review directly leading to successful projects such as the Snuggie®, Topsy Turvy®, Perfect Brownie®, Perfect Meatloaf®, Magic Mesh™, Eggies™ and more. With a reputation for trust and the ability to get the job done, Gary has become the go to person for many individual and companies focused on Product Innovation. With an eye towards the future of Innovation based on the past success of Direct Response, he brings a decisive eye to the “go/no go” decision that must be made on every project.
While serving at Wine Enthusiast Companies as Senior Director of Sales and Merchandising, Gary was a key leader as the company experienced rapid growth periods. Through strong management and organization as well as implementation of an outsourcing model, he lead growth in both top and bottom line dollars while decreasing risk when possible. He also lead a resurgence in product development by maximizing the Wine Enthusiast brand, reputation and Licensing departments.
Gary has been promoted within every organization he has ever worked, including CVS, where he took his first job as a stock boy and 3 months later was a Front End Manager. This work ethic and attention to detail has served him well as success has followed him throughout his career as he worked his way up at Olympia Sports, CCM (The Hockey Company), Caldor, before the Wine Enthusiast and Allstar Products Group.
Gary holds a Bachelors Degree from Bentley College, now known as Bentley University in Marketing. A long time supporter of youth baseball, he serves on the Port Chester Youth Baseball board in his town as well as the Beautification Commission. He was the President of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church from 2006-2011. Continuing his ethos of community service, he has just announced his candidacy for Town of Rye Councilman in November of 2011.
